Adventure travel is for everyone, and it’s here to stay. Along with the benefits of getting outside, however, comes a responsibility to do so safely and sustainably. While social media and pop culture encourage travelers to seek the remote and great outdoors; not everyone is equipped with the skills, resources, or environmental awareness they need to ensure these places remain wild. How do we embrace nature while protecting it? What is an influencer’s role in promoting responsible adventure tourism? Finally, what did climbing Mount Kilimanjaro teach me about adventure travel ethics, and how can you apply it to your lives?
